Why does QuickBooks Error Code 248 happen?

QuickBooks Error Code 248 generally takes place when it is not able to memorize the transactions.

Description

The user is trying to memorize a transaction and QBW doesn’t know what type of transaction it is. This is a coding error. When trying to memorize a transaction QBW is not able to read what type of transaction it is.

What is QBW?

QBW is a file extension for a QuickBooks for Windows spreadsheet file. The QBW format is associated with Intuit’s QuickBooks money management software, which uses QBW files to store financial data, templates, letters, logos, and images for a company.

How to solve QuickBooks Error Code 249?

Steps:

1) Verify rebuild if necessary i.e. build the complete database again. Since it is a memory issue, rebuilding the database is going to resolve the issue to an extent.

How to resolve QuickBooks Error 249?

To resolve this issue, download the latest update for your version of QuickBooks.

If you have trouble receiving the update, or if the update appears to complete but the errors still occur, reset the download status and try again:

From the QuickBooks File menu, choose Update QuickBooks.

  • Click the Update button.

  • Hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard and click the Get Updates button.

  • Click OK on the Reset Updates message. QuickBooks will download the latest update again.
